[ Peter asked Harry to meet him at a coffee shop, preferring to do this in person. Has he met Harry in person? He thinks the answer is no, actually! They've only talked a few times. Is this going to be awkward because of the other him? He hopes not. He's awkward enough without weird multiverse help, thanks.
He finds a relatively quiet table in a corner. The shop is pretty quiet; turns out regular people don't like hanging out in places metas are known to frequent. Well, fine. ]
[ The funny thing is, they have met. But neither of them were themselves at the time. Harry had been Triple Trouble, a bit-part villain doing his best to stop Peter as Starstruck from destroying half a city block. Since they were both in the simulation at the time, Harry himself isn't all that sure what this Peter is really like, as himself.
But that's what this call is, right? A chance to get to know each other better?
Harry walks into the coffee shop with a pep in his step that has been lacking in recent months. Joining up with the Society means that there are protections in place when he does the underhanded things he needs to do in order to cure himself of his ever-progressing illness. While before, he had tried to limit himself from needing to corner random strangers in back alleys and beat them senseless, now he does it without hesitation, whenever he needs to 'top himself up,' so to speak. He doesn't plan on telling Peter about it, of course. Something tells him even if it's guild-sanctioned violence, any Spider-Man would see something like that happening and would try to stop it.
So all Peter will see is Harry Osborn in his prime, swanning his way into the coffee shop like he owns it, pulling off his jacket and scarf to sit across from Peter at the little corner table. ]
Yeah, don't mention it. You said you wanted to talk?
[ Peter does remember the Starstruck encounter, of course. That whole experience is one of the things that sticks with him all the time. But it wasn't the same as Peter meeting Harry. They weren't really themselves in that fucked up simulation.
Harry's right, of course. Peter wouldn't be chill at all with that kind of thing. Despite his consideration of joining the Bad GuysTM, he's pretty much an insufferable goody two shoes about things like that.
Harry has the kind of confidence just walking in a shop that Peter can only dream of. He notes that but he's not going to be weird and make a thing about it. ]
Oh. Yeah. Well, Iβ¦you joined the Society, right? Not the Alliance. I guess I want to understand why. Oh, I'm not, like, making a judgment or anything. I'm just trying to figure out what the deal with the guilds is. I talked to Mechanima recently and he said a lot so I've been kinda chewing on it.
society things incoming!
